Willard W. Nightingale

Willard W. Nightingale, of Lake Zurich, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 21, 2025 at the age of 98.

He was born August 9, 1927 in Barrington, IL, the son of the late Clarke and Amelia (nee Sommerfield) Nightingale.

Willard proudly served in the US Air Force during WWII and was a mechanic for the Berlin Airlift.

Willard is survived by his sons, Jeff and William Nightingale; his grandchildren, Heather, Josh, Allisha, and Kristin; his great-grandson, Emilio; and his sister, Shirley Roesslein.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Leona.

A graveside service with Military Honors will be held on Friday, August 7th, 2026, at 10 a.m. at Randhill Cemetery, 1700 W Rand Road, Arlington Heights, IL 60004.
