Dr. William H. Bajorat, 78, passed away on November 9, 2025 leaving a legacy of consistent commitment to family, education, and the community. Bill was born on January 1, 1947 to Walter and Martha Bajorat in Chicago, IL. He was raised in Cicero, IL and a resident of Crystal Lake, IL for the majority of his adult life. He graduated from Fenwick High School and subsequently studied at Northern Illinois University, where he earned his Bachelors and Masters degrees in Mathematics and Education, respectively, and The University of Florida, where he received his Doctorate in Education. He was the first person in his family to be honored with such degrees.
Bill worked his entire career at Barrington High School for 35 years, where he served as Mathematics Department Head and did his best to teach the youth of America, notably with the goal of guiding them to function in this world without the use of a calculator. His love of teaching extended long past retirement, as he continued to tutor students for another decade. His penchant for mentoring carried onto the baseball diamond as well, and he managed a Babe Ruth Baseball team for many years.
Bill will be remembered for his humor, intelligence, and strong values. He believed firmly in the Golden Rule, and served as an example of ethical reciprocity to his family, friends, and students. An avid White Sox fan since his youth, Bill was devoted to the team through thick and thin and tolerated the Cubs to the best of his ability.
Bill is survived by his wife Dale, to whom he was married for 55 years; sons Andrew (Kristin) Bajorat and Philip Bajorat; grandchildren Frances Bajorat and Daniel Bajorat; and nephew David Abangan.
Services will be held at Our Lady of the Wayside Catholic Church in Arlington Heights, IL on November 15, 2025 with visitation at 10am followed by mass at 11am.
n lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Crystal Lake Food Pantry or Crystal Lake Babe Ruth League.
