William Ewing

Born February 7, 1935 in Elgin, Mr. Ewing passed away, Sunday, January 17, 2010 at Memorial Hospital in Woodstock. Mr. Ewing retired from General Signal as an Industrial Engineer. He served in the US Air Force Reserves, where he was active for the 1962 Cuba Crisis, was a longtime member of the First Congregational Church of Crystal Lake, volunteered with the McHenry County Historical Society, and enjoyed attending Northern Illinois Steam Club Shows in Sycamore, and he found great pleasure in touring the community he was born and raised in. Survivors include his sons, Patrick (Mark Kanazawa), Robert (Suzanne), and Michael (John Repulski); sister, Alice Brewer; 12 step grandchildren; 8 great, step grandchildren; and former wife, Sharon G. Ewing. He was preceded in death by his parents Dean M. and Mary (nee Cole) Ewing. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Mr. Ewing's name may be made to the McHenry County Historical Society, PO Box 434, Union IL 60180.
