William ‘Bill” R. McKinley,91, resident of Marco Island, FL and formerly of Glenview, IL , passed away on January 4,2012, in Wauconda, IL.
Bill was born on October 6,1920, to William and Sara McKinley in Ohio.
Bill was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Maxine, who passed away on March 14, 2010. He married the love of his life Maxine (nee McElhatten) in 1942, in Charleston WV. During the past 19 years, while living on Marco Island, they were involved in many organizations including; the Marco Island Power Squadron, United Church of Marco Island, the Marco Island Investment Club, and the Marco Island Historical Society.
He is survived by his loving children, Suzanne “Susie” (Bill) Bishop, and William R. (Cynthia) McKinley; grandchildren, Bill Bishop, Jennifer (Shane) Whildin, and Heather McKinley; great-granddaughter, Stella Marie Whildin.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Marco Island Historical Society.
Services and burial will be held privately.
