William Rudolph Tribke Jr., 77, of Oakwood Hills, passed away on October 12, 2025. He was born in Chicago on February 1, 1948, to William Sr. and Madeline (Hahn) Tribke.
In 1969, Bill married his high school sweetheart, Charlene Zelez, and together they built a wonderful life in Oakwood Hills. They bought their forever home there, where they raised their three children, created countless memories, and later welcomed their beloved grandchildren. Their love story lasted a lifetime. Charlene passed away in March 2022, after 52 years of marriage.
Bill worked as an over-the-road truck driver for Yellow Freight, a job he truly loved. He enjoyed seeing the sights, meeting new people, and had a deep appreciation for the open road.
He was known for his humor, resourcefulness, determination, and a touch of stubbornness that often made those around him smile. Above all, Bill was loving and devoted—Charlene was his world.
A big animal lover, Bill was known to bring home stray pets when the kids were young, and his home was never without the warmth of a furry friend. He enjoyed fishing, chatting on his CB radio, tinkering with cars, and connecting with fellow enthusiasts as an amateur Ham radio operator.
He is survived by his children, Wendi Branecki, Cindi (Daniel) Hayes, and Will (Bonnie) Tribke; his grandchildren, R.J. Kus, Alexandria, Abigail, and Allison Branecki, Arianna Hayes, and Micaela and Mason Tribke; his sister, Darlene Baghdadi; and his brother, Randy (Elise) Tribke.
Per Bill’s wishes, no services will be held.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
