Winifred "Winnie" D. (Keane) Keough

  Winifred "Winnie" Dorothy Keough, born on September 7, 1924, in Akron, Iowa, to Willard and Grace (O'Rielly) Keane, peacefully passed away on Friday, September 15, 2023. She married Clyde Keough in January 1948, and together they built a loving family.  

  She is survived by her devoted children, Tom Keough of Santa Maria, CA; Casey Keough of Angleton, TX; Kevin (Megan) Keough of Portland, OR; Jeanne (Tom) Schwab of Bettendorf, IA; Kitty (Bill) Karmell of Deer Park, IL; and Molly (Jim) Kessler of Albuquerque, NM. Her legacy lives on in her cherished grandchildren, Caroline (Josh) O'Connor, Heather (Marcus) Hautla, Mary Schwab, Kyle (Dare) Karmell, Kelsey (Danny) Kirby, Casey Karmell, Brenna Keough and Clare Keough. Winnie was also blessed with great-grandchildren: Flynn, Nat, Indie, Theodore, Blair, Rory, and Connor.  

  Winnie was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband Clyde, and two sons, Michael and Tim. She joins her dear siblings in eternal rest, Kaye Knerler, Eileen Germain, Lucile Paduch, Maureen Alfs, Jeane Morrison, William Keane, and Charlie Keane.  

  Winnie was a pillar of strength, dedicating herself to her husband, her family, and her faith. Her compassionate heart knew no bounds as she extended her helping hand to those in need, actively participating in charitable services through her church. For three decades, she served as a registered nurse, bringing care and comfort to countless lives.  

  Winnie's talents and interests were as varied as they were remarkable. From china painting to tatting, quilting to sewing and knitting, she possessed a creative spirit that left an indelible mark. As an avid bridge player, reader and talented artist, she relished the joy of each moment, embracing life with enthusiasm and grace.  

 Memorial visitation will be from 930am until the funeral mass at 11am Saturday June 29th, 2024 at St. Anne Catholic Church, 120 N Ela Street, Barrington.  

  In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Anne Church Project Hope.
