Wladyslawa Tomkiewicz

Wladyslawa “Eva” Helena Tomkiewicz, 68, of Lake in the Hills, IL, originally of Głubczyce, Poland was found passed away on March 20, 2026 in her home of natural causes. Born on September 22, 1957, to Wladyslaw and Eugena (Mereszczak) Andrejczuk, Eva led a life marked by love for her children, grandchildren, and faith.

Eva arrived in the United States from Poland in 1980. In addition to raising her daughters Diana and Anetta, Eva worked at McDonald’s where she rose up the ranks to manager prior to the birth of her son Thomas. Later, Eva worked in adult education at McHenry County College, helping others further their language skills and education. Eva’s family and coworkers remember her as a very caring and sweet person, who was always willing to help. At home, she is remembered for the Polish dishes she loved to make and share such as pierogi, barszcz, and gołąbki.

Eva’s selfless attitude, excitement, and laughter will be deeply missed by all that knew her.

The loving memory of Wladyslawa “Eva” Helena Tomkiewicz will forever be cherished by her children, Diana (Greg) Kamysz, Anetta Gillespie, and Thomas Tomkiewicz; three grandchildren, Anastasia Kamysz, Damian Kamysz, and Arianna Gillespie; and Thomas’s cat Pac-Man Tomkiewicz and Anetta's dog Tucker Gillespie.

Eva was preceded in death by her parents and brother.

A Catholic service and blessing will be held graveside on Friday, March 27 starting promptly at 11:00am at Crystal Lake Memorial Park, 8012 Ridgefield Rd, Crystal Lake, IL 60012, followed by an immediate burial.
