Yoon Jai Kim

Yoon Jai Kim, age 90, of Cary, Illinois, passed away peacefully on June 5, 2025.

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 13, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Davenport Family Funeral Home in Crystal Lake. A graveside service will take place on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at 9:15 a.m. at Lakewood Memorial Park in Elgin.

Yoon was born on January 5, 1935, in Seoul, Korea. She graduated from Yonsei University and came to the United States on May 9, 1964, in pursuit of new opportunities. Over the years, she worked as a librarian for Science Research Associates and Blue Cross Association. She later followed her passion for antiques, owning and operating a shop in Chicago until her retirement in 1989. After retiring, she settled in Indianapolis, Indiana, and in 2023 moved to Cary, Illinois. 

She loved to travel, cook and spend time with family. 

She is survived by her beloved partner, Hai Chan Chung; her daughters, Grace Carr (Brian) and Nancy Chung; grandchildren, Sarah and Ethan Carr; and 16 nieces and nephews.
