Aaron Anthony Wojewoda

July 17, 1982 — January 6, 2021

Davenport Crystal Lake

Aaron Anthony Wojewoda, of Crystal Lake, passed away peacefully on January 6, 2021 at his home surrounded by loving family at the age of 38. Aaron was born July 17, 1982 in Barrington, the son of Jack and Eleanore Wojewoda.

Raised in Crystal Lake, Aaron was a graduate of Crystal Lake Central High school and Elgin Community College culinary school. Aaron graduated as a pastry chef, but worked in all areas of the kitchen in Bellingham, WA and Aspen, CO including line cook, banquet manager and high-end catering.

Aaron was talented with the guitar, was an accomplished downhill skier, and an excellent marksman. He was a whiz at Sudoku puzzles, loved his motorcycle, loved music, especially vinyl records and would buy an album just to preserve the cover’s artwork. He had a great sense of humor and could exchange movie quotes with the best of them. He was very loyal and kind to friends and animals alike, helping any neighbor, stranger, or dog in need. Aaron was very cost conscious, always preferring a resale shop over department stores. He would roam the neighborhood the evening before garbage day and bring home “treasures” such as tables, chairs, planters, etc. and tried to recycle everything because you never know when you may need it.

Aaron will be dearly missed by his parents, Jack and Eleanore Wojewoda; and his sister, Christina (Kendall Krebs) Wojewoda, MD.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Marie and Antoni Palczewski; and paternal grandparents, Irene and Edward Wojewoda.

For the safety and well-being of yourself and others, Aaron’s family understands that during these times not everyone feels comfortable attending the funeral Mass. Please keep his family in your thoughts and prayers on this day if you are not able to attend the Mass.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, January 16, 2021 at 12:30 PM at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 451 W. Terra Cotta Avenue (Route 176), Crystal Lake. Burial to follow at Crystal Lake Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Aaron’s memory to Helping Paws Animal Shelter, Woodstock; or to Crystal Lake Food Pantry.
