Abigail Rose Greene

February 10, 2009 — June 15, 2017

Abigail Rose Greene of Crystal Lake was born on February 10, 2009 at Centegra Hospital in Mchenry to Adam and Rachel (Carson) Greene. She was their first child and eldest daughter. Abigail passed away on Wednesday June 15, 2017 after a courageous nine-month battle with brain cancer.

Abigail is survived by her parents; her sister, Emma; and her grandparents, David Carson, Hubert Greene and Susan Greene. She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Penelope (Penny) Ann Carson. She is further survived by her loving Aunts and Uncles, Justin Carson, Nicole (Michael) Colosimo, Catie (Alex) Earl and Nora (Michael) Hastings; and her cousins which she was very close to and loved dearly, Alexander, Meah, Natalie and Ambrose Carson, Bella and Harper Colosimo, Cara and Bridgette Hastings.

It would be difficult to find another child who was as kind, funny, compassionate, smart and sweet as Abigail Rose Greene. It would be impossible to find another child that cared about the happiness of others as much as her. During a ceremony in her honor at Crystal Lake South High School this past October, she was given dozens of roses by the varsity football team during a touching gesture to honor her fight and struggle against a terminal disease. She not only insisted, but demanded that she share each and every rose with her entire Girl Scout troop and other friends and family that had attended the ceremony to cheer her on. She was whole heartedly selfless and this world is forever poorer with her not in it.

A public visitation will be Wednesday June 21st from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Davenport Funeral Home and Crematory, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave. (Rte. 176), Crystal Lake.  Abigail will be laid to rest the following day at Windridge Memorial Park in Cary during a private ceremony.
