Angela Eve (Rowland) Newell

December 20, 1977 — May 1, 2023

Davenport, Barrington

Angela Eve Newell (nee Rowland), age 45, passed away unexpectedly at her home in Carpentersville, IL on Monday, May 1, 2023.

Angela was born in Santa Rosa, CA on December 20, 1977 to Karen and Raleigh Rowland. She was raised in Hoffman Estates IL. She became a big sister when Nicholas was born in Sept 1980. She had conflicting thoughts on this, but ultimately, she loved that she had a sibling. She became a big sister again when Juliet was born in Feb 1984. At this point, she was 6 years old and was settling into her big sister role. Growing up in that era, the cartoons and toys were amazing. Ninja Turtles, Popples, My Little Pony, Barbies, Care Bears etc etc. She loved them all. She started drawing them and became very good at it. Angie was a very talented artist, whether it be drawing or writing poems. The sky and clouds were an inspiration for her works. She found beauty in nature.

Angela attended Schaumburg High School (class of 1996) where she met her future husband, Michael Newell. They spent every moment possible together. Angie moved in with Mike into the house he was raised in as soon as she could. She did not like to be away from him for very long. After high school, they moved into a trailer together in Des Plaines, where they lived for about 5 years. Mike proposed and they were wed on November 16th, 2002. They bought a house in Carpentersville where they raised their beautiful daughter, Emily Rose-Marie. Emily was born on Oct 9th, 2006.

Angie had many jobs, but the few she absolutely loved was Hobby Lobby, where she worked with her sister and brother for a bit; Denny’s in Carpentersville, and her most recent job she had, she was most proud of, Performance Stamping Co, where she worked with Mike.

Angie and Mike just celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary this past November but had been a couple for about 30 years. Throughout the years, Angie had many cats: Boo Boo, Orion, Boots, Doobie, Zoie, Tom Tom, Kiki, and Boo Boo II to name a few. She loved her kitties and was a very attentive cat mom. She was SO proud of her daughter Emily for whom she grew up to be.

Angela is survived by her husband, Michael, her cherished daughter, Emily Rose-Marie; loving mother, Karen Rowland (nee Wieda); brother Nicholas, sister Juliet (Patrick) Duncan; her niece Willow Skye Duncan, nephews Jareth Jett Rowland, Ethan Caleb Duncan & Malakai Gideon Duncan. And some aunts, many cousins and numerous friends.

She is preceded in death by her father, Raleigh Rowland, her sister-in-law Kathryn Newell & both sets of grandparents.

A Memorial Service will be held for Angela on Saturday, May 27, 2023 at St. Micheal's Episcopal Church in Barrington with visitation from 10:00 a.m. until the service at 11:00 a.m. There will be a luncheon held at the church immediately following the service.
