Beth Ann Broaddus

February 2, 1963 — May 29, 2021

Davenport, Lake Zurich

Beth Ann Broaddus, born in Melrose Park, Illinois, on February 2, 1963, passed away at her Whitewater, Wisconsin home on Saturday, May 29, 2021, at the age of 58. A devoted mother and sister, Beth will always be remembered for her deep faith and endless love for her family.

Anyone visiting Beth would be sure to find her engaged in some of her favorite activities: composing a fine piece of poetry, enjoying the colors of a vibrant new drawing, loving on her cats, crocheting for family and friends, or preparing a huge batch of Christmas presents for her children, Taz and Shaina, sometimes as early as June or July. Beth played the flute beautifully and was a talented artist. But her proudest experience was becoming a mother and raising her two children.

Beth was also a loving and caring sister to her three siblings Renee, Aaron and her twin brother, Bret. Her youthful spirit could easily mistake her for the youngest among them. Though she would be quick to point out she was the oldest, even if by only one minute. Growing up especially close, Beth and her siblings could often be found together on the ice-skating rink, at the baseball field, or running through rain puddles after a big summer storm. There was never a shortage of fun or mischief to get into for Beth and her siblings with their big family and close knit group of friends.  In adulthood, Beth very much enjoyed being the older doting sister but always remained the gentle soul her siblings loved and protected.

Always the person to support someone else before thinking about herself, Beth was a trusted and reliable friend, and above all, a dependable listener. She found the most happiness in simply looking to brighten someone else’s day. She never spared her joy and laughter. And if you were fortunate to receive one of Beth’s thoughtful, personalized, and sometimes hand drawn greetings she loved to send, she made her loved ones, whether near or far, always feel close to her and see the day through her eyes. Whether a simple hello, a lovely poem, or a photo of a sweet bumblebee dancing on her finger, Beth generously shared the beauty around her with those she loved so dearly.

Beth will be greatly missed by her entire family, her friends, and all that knew her, and will forever live in our hearts. She is survived by her son Taz Zaccard (Yanidza Betancourt), her daughter Shaina (Shaun) Sheahan, her siblings Bret Broaddus, Aaron (Lynn) Broaddus and Renee Broaddus, her niece Rachel Broaddus, stepfather Dwayne, and many extended family and friends, who will always cherish her kind and generous spirit. She is preceded in death by her dear mother Estelle (Pranno) Yozamp and her father Dale Broaddus.

Rest in ever loving peace our beloved Beth Ann.
