Burnell Joseph Wollar

Burnell Joseph Wollar, 95 passed away peacefully at his home September 10, 2021.  He was born in Barrington September 28, 1925 to Joseph and Dorothy Wollar.  Burnell married the love of his life, Irene, January 26, 1945 and they were married 76 years when she preceded him in death in March, 2021.

Burnell was a proud WWII Army veteran and lived his entire life in Barrington.  He was a 1943 graduate of Barrington High School and 1950 graduate of I.I.T.  Burnell was an active member of the American Legion and VFW; volunteered for 40 years on the Planning Commission, Zoning Board of Appeals, Critical Insight Committee, and Village Board; and served as President of Board of Directors of Evergreen Cemetery.  He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed making miniature furniture for doll houses.

Burnell is survived by his grandchildren, Michael Wollar and Stephanie Wollar; and many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his wife; son, Philip (Beth) Wollar; sister, Verdell Bills; and his parents.

Services will be held privately at Evergreen Cemetery.
