Catherine M. (Smith) Philbin

Catherine M. Philbin, 68, of Naples, FL and Crystal Lake, IL passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on December 25, 2020. She was born on March 15, 1952 in Chicago to Robert G. Sr., and Jean M. (nee Jones) Smith.

Catherine was united in marriage to Thomas Philbin on March 30, 1973 in Lake Zurich, IL. She enjoyed gardening and cooking.

In addition to her husband, Catherine is survived by her daughters, Megan (Matt) Turner of Lakemoor, IL and Erin (Mike) Nieft of Elgin, IL; granddaughter, Kaylee Nieft; siblings, Susan (F.J.) Heinz, Patricia (David) Giangrossi, Glynn Smith, Robert Jr. (Polly) Smith, Kimberly (Robert) Aschenbrenner.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Sean Smith.

Due to the pandemic, there will be a private service held for immediate family. Catherine’s family will be holding a celebration of her life at a later date when friends and family can gather together.
