David "Uncle Dave" Jerome Olsen

David Jerome Olsen, 66, of Woodstock passed away August 8, 2020.  He was born June 17, 1954 in Chicago to George and Dolores (Hoppe) Olsen.

Dave graduated from Taft High School class of 1973.  A few years later, in 1976, he moved to Crystal Lake.  Dave was employed at Morton Salt in security before becoming disabled due to a work accident.

Uncle Dave, as he was known to most everyone, loved spending time with his great nieces and family.  He was always teasing and making people laugh.  He enjoyed action movies, video games, going to the casino and taking road trips.  A good T-bone steak was his favorite meal.

He will be missed by his sister, Barbara Hartwig; niece, Jennifer Van Blake; great nieces, Hannah and Madelynn Van Blake; and nephew, Kevin (Vickie) Hartwig.

Dave was preceded in death by his parents, George and Dolores Olsen; brother, George Olsen; and brother-in-law, Robert L. Hartwig.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, August 13, at Crystal Lake Memorial Park, Crystal Lake.
