Earl Gilly Obituary

Earl Ray Gilly passed away peacefully November 16, 2023 surrounded by his loving family. Earl was born May 29, 1928 in Barrington to Daniel and Mary Gilly. Earl proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corp during the Korean War. He was a Market Manager for Jewel Foods for 39 years.

 Earl is survived by his loving wife of 73 years, Rosemary; children, Linda Wegner, Marcia (Jerry) Ciffone, Donna Mirro, and Michael (Michelle) Gilly; grandchildren, Kelly Klehm, Nicole Farrow, Michael Ciffone, Nicholas Ciffone, Stephanie Gilly, and Caroline Gilly. Earl also has six great grandchildren.

 Earl was preceded in death by his parents, siblings Alice, Robert, Charles, Velma, Ethel and Daniel. He is survived by his sister Mary Ann. Earl will be remembered as a man who lived his faith. He was a happy, loyal, kind, patient, loving and hard-working man.

Visitation will be from 11am until the funeral service at 12pm Tuesday, November 21 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 720 Dundee Avenue, Barrington. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Barrington, IL.  

In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate memorial donations be made to St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Barrington, IL.
