Ernesto Dela Cruz Ramos

July 11, 1957 ~ November 17, 2020 (age 63)

Obituary

Ernesto “Jun” Ramos, 63, of Elgin, IL passed away peacefully and surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, November 17, 2020.

Born July 11, 1957, in Manila, Philippines, he was the son of Francisco and Leonora (Dela Cruz) Ramos. He was united in marriage to Nilda (Ochoa) Ramos on June 4, 1978.

Ernesto was a very hardworking man whose main goal in life was to always be the best provider that he could be. He found great happiness in the happiness of others and especially his family. He was the epitome of a great giver. On his own time, he enjoyed listening to music especially from his favorite bands from the 70s. The Eagles was always a staple during his prime years.

Ernesto enjoyed his life to the fullest with wife, children and grandchildren. He even treated his closest friends like his own family. No one left behind is one of his greatest mottos in life. As long as he can give and help, you can always count on him. Thus, it is not surprising that he was well loved by many.

Ernesto is survived by his beloved wife Nilda; his cherished children Kerwin (Showne) Ramos and Karen (Matthew) Kiep; and his most cherished grandchildren, Enzo Ramos and Ava Kiep; his brothers, Art (Angelica) Ramos of IL, Rolando (Milagros) Ramos of IL, Romeo (Benilda) Ramos of IL; his sisters, Norma Arandela of IL, Corazon (Andy) Lanz of Switzerland, Zenaida (Roy) Padilla of CA, Edna (George) Luceno of CA, Myrna (Paul) Guedel of Switzerland, Celia (Salvador) Ujano of IL; and their families including many nephews, nieces and great-nephews and great-nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Francisco Ramos and Leonora Dela Cruz Ramos.

A public visitation will be held on Saturday, November 21 from 8:00am until 10:15am at the funeral home. Ernesto's funeral mass and burial will be held privately for family.
