Frank J. Reschke

March 31, 1932 — September 25, 2022

Davenport Crystal Lake

Frank J. Reschke passed from this life peacefully September 25, 2022. Frank was born March 31, 1932, in Chicago IL. To Martha and August Reschke.

He attended Catholic grade school as well as Lake View High school. He went to seminary for a short time, we are not so sure if it was because he wanted to be a priest or if it was his parents’ idea to keep him out of trouble! He was known to catch a free ride on the trolly now and again to get to the lake front to swim off the rocks, but the joke was on him when the trolly driver told Frank and his friend he let them get away with it earlier but now they had to pay up!

Frank and his wife Donna started dating after Frank went to visit her in the hospital after she broke her arm. They enjoyed going to the movies, horseback riding and playing cards with family. Frank and Donna were married June 1953. Later in life Frank and Donna enjoyed the Florida winters hanging by the pool and being with old friends.

Frank provided for his family by working as a brick mason early on in his career, transitioning to an electrician later in life. Using these talents, Frank, Donna, and family built and renovated many homes as they moved their young family from the city to the country. Frank has left many a brick wall, beautiful fireplaces and lamp posts for many generations to come. His children often benefited from his abilities on their own homes and learned the trades as well!

His greatest hobby was buying and selling cars, he would get his mind set on a special one, hunt it down, buy it for a great deal, enjoy it for a bit and move on to the next one! His children would often benefit from his expertise in this area as well! They would get a good deal on a car and not have to sit through the shopping and haggling.

Frank was full of life and laughter right up until the end despite challenging health issues, he continued to care deeply for his children and grandchildren.
