Gloria May (Strammello) Schilling

Gloria May Schilling, age 92, of Riverwoods, IL passed away peacefully at home on September 27, 2021.

Gloria was born on July 23, 1929 in Chicago, IL. She was happily married to Donald Wayne Schilling until his passing in 1991 after 39 years of marriage. She had an exciting career working for the FBI for eleven years before becoming a local business owner of the Barrington Ace Hardware as well as the Palatine Ace Hardware in Illinois. Gloria was a loving mother of four children, a grandmother of nine, and a great-grandmother to one. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Gloria leaves behind her four loving children, Helen Marie Schilling Dandan (Antoine or Tony), Catherine Ann Schilling Landolt, Mary Frances Schilling Bachar (Gregory), James Eugene Schilling (Cynthia Cannon); her loving grandchildren Robert Bachar (Courtney Pratt), Alessandra Dandan Arias (Matthew), Antoinette Dandan, Angelina Dandan, Cali Schilling Foydl (Alexander), Mia Schilling, Shayla Schilling, Aya Ware, Kimmy Smith and great-grandson Hayden Bachar; her sister-in-law, Darline Guldner Strammello; her nephew Steven Strammello (Margaret Landers) and their children Lucas, Cassandra, and Nathan, and her niece Karen Strammello.

She is preceded in death by her parents Peter and Helen Groth Strammello and her brother, Peter Strammello Jr.

Services will be held on Tuesday, October 5, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 149 W. Main St. Barrington, IL 60010.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Anne Catholic Community Church, 120 Ela St., Barrington, IL 60010. Burial to follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery in Hillside, IL.
