Grace B. Lang

Grace B. Lang of Crystal Lake passed away peacefully at home on January 3, 2022. She was born September 27, 1937 in Chicago to Otto and Sylvia Preisler.

Grace received her Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from Illinois Wesleyan University where she was a proud member of Kappa Delta Sorority. After college she worked as a social worker before marrying and raising a family.  As a stay at home Mom in the 1970’s, she single handedly built a kit car in her garage gaining much notoriety at the time. Later, she went to work in the financial services industry for over 20 years. After retiring, her life-long love of learning led her back to college. After taking classes at McHenry County College, she became a certified personal trainer and earned her NASM certification at the age of 70. She went on to work at Health Bridge Fitness Center in Crystal Lake as a personal trainer.

Grace had a strong, independent spirit but her proudest role in life was that of being a mother and grandmother. She is survived by her children, Christine (late Stephen) Krueger, Gregg Lang, and Cynthia (Brian) Rhoades; grandchildren, Evan and Jessica Krueger, Gracie Lang, and Dylan and Jenna Rhoades; and sister, Joyce (late David) Wineinger.  She was preceded in death by her parents.
