Henry “Hank” Herman Zinkann Jr, 97, of Barrington passed away peacefully on June 23, 2022. He was born on April 19, 1925 in Sheboygan, WI to the late Henry and Emma Zinkann.

Hank was a proud veteran of the United States Navy, serving during World War II in the Marshall Islands and was honorably discharged as a Seaman 1st Class. On November 19, 1955, he married the love of his life, Barbara nee Miesbauer; they celebrated 60 beautiful years of marriage until her passing in 2016.

Together they raised their daughters, Karla, Julie, and Linda in Tower Lakes, Illinois where they resided for over 45 years.  Hank’s career in Pharmaceutical sales spanned for 37 years working  for J.B. Roerig, Pfizer and Astra until his retirement in 1990. Barb and Hank enjoyed retirement, spending winters in Florida, playing bridge and golfing.

Hank was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He is survived by his three daughters, Dr. Karla (Dr. Richard Mallinger) Zinkann, Julie (Jeff) Lencioni, and Linda (Michael) Zinkann-Ryan; his grandchildren, Zane, Elyse, and Karl Mallinger, Carina (Kyle) Griffin, Anthony, Bianca, and Nicholas Lencioni, Henry Ryan, and Angeline (Bill) Cotton; great grandchildren, Eric and Kaylee Cotton and Avery Adams.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Margaret Sleber.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Hank’s name to St. Paul United Church of Christ, 401 E. Main Street, Barrington, IL 60010.

A graveside ceremony with military honors will be held at Lutheran Cemetery, Sheboygan, WI on Saturday, July 16, 2022.
