Holly Suzanne (Sanders) Pighini

Holly Suzanne Pighini (nee Sanders), age 47, of Barrington, Illinois passed away peacefully on Monday, January 6th, 2020 with her loving family by her side.

Holly was born on November, 15th, 1972 in Chicago, Illinois. She graduated from Northern Illinois University with a Bachelors in Psychology and held two masters degrees in education and administration.  She was an avid runner and completed the Chicago Marathon twice. Her most important role was raising her three children and three step children. Holly married the love of her life in Italy surrounded by her family and friends on June 29th, 2018. She touched the lives of many children and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Holly is survived by her beloved husband, Steven Pighini; her children, Jakob Cocanig, Mia Cocanig, and Abby Cocanig; step-children, Jesse Cocanig, Alexander Pighini, and Sebastian Pighini; sister, Lorie Sanders; brothers, Mark and Sean Sanders; nieces, Nicole Sanders, Kayla Sanders, Sydney Sanders; nephews, Brandon Sanders, Brennan Aucutt, Colin Aucutt; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Mary and Spike Pighini; brothers-in-law, Michael (Laurie) and Richard (Alexa) Pighini; sister-in-law, Cynthia Pighini; nieces, Oliva Pighini, Isabella Pighini; nephew,  Enzo Pighini; her best friends, Lauren (Chris) Amoroso and Robin (Chris Salerno) Holder; as well as many friends, cousins, aunts, and uncles.

Preceded in death by her loving parents, Joseph and Joan Sanders.

A visitation for Holly will be held on Thursday January 9th, 2020 from 4pm until 9pm at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 941 S. Old Rand Rd., Lake Zurich, IL 60047. A second visitation will be held on Friday January 10th, 2020 from 10am until the time of mass at 11am at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 135 S Buesching Rd, Lake Zurich, IL.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
