Jack Teetsov

July 12, 1933 — April 8, 2021

Davenport Crystal Lake

Jack Teetsov, 87 of Crystal Lake, a U.S. Army Veteran, was born on July 12, 1933 in Abja, Estonia to Jaak and Valentine Teetsov (nee Mudda) and passed away on April 8, 2021 surrounded by his family. His beloved wife, Shirley Jane (Dewey) Teetsov, whom he was married to for 64 years, preceded him in death in 2018.  Jack was a devoted father to Lee Anne (Ralph Clatterbuck) Fredericks and Susan (Steven) Wegner; and loving brother of Ants, Jan and Enn Teetsov, and the late, Aino Erita.

Jack served in the US Army in El Paso Texas, before returning to Crystal Lake to build his brick home in the Gardens.  He worked as a machinist for Crystal Lake Grinders and later joined his brothers in the carpentry business.  Jack was proud of his Estonian heritage and cooked many traditional Estonian meals for his family; as well as socializing with his Estonian family members and compatriots at the Chicago Eesti Maja.  Above all, Jack cared deeply for his family. He will be missed by many for his kind-heartedness, his sense of humor and his dedication in caring for his wife, Estonian elders, and anyone who needed his help.

Services will be held later at McHenry County Memorial Park. Please check the funeral home’s website for further information.
