Jean Anne Bordelon

July 17, 1935 — June 7, 2021

Davenport Barrington

Jean Anne Bordelon, 85, longtime resident of Barrington, passed away peacefully on June 7, 2021.

Jean graduated from The College of Commerce at Loyola University Chicago where she met her husband, Robert Bordelon.  They married in Chicago and moved to Barrington in 1969 to raise their four daughters.  Robert and Jean celebrated 56 years of marriage until he passed away in 2013 (Click here to view Robert's obituary).

Prior to her retirement, Jean worked for many years as a medical biller for two Barrington doctors.  She was an avid Cubs fan and was so thrilled when they won the World Series in 2016.  Jean's family will always remember and value her constant support, encouragement and companionship. Above all, her family meant everything to Jean.   In her later years, she cherished the time she spent with them, especially on trips to Italy, Hawaii and Grand Cayman.

Jean will be deeply missed by her loving daughters, Catherine Bordelon, Cynthia Bordelon, Jean Marie (Charles) Merrick, and Michelle (Mark Sarkies) Bordelon; cherished grandchildren, Sara and Aron; and by her in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Al and Lee (Rusin) Lange, and her sisters Joyce Lyon and Susan Thompson.

Services will be held privately by her family.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601 ( www.alz.org ), St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 ( www.st.jude.org ), or to your favorite veteran’s charity.
