Joyce Wezalis, 70, of Arlington Heights, passed away peacefully on November 4, 2023. She was born on October 21, 1953 in Chicago, IL to Frank and Kathleen Kornfeind.
On February 4, 1978, Joyce married Scott Wezalis at St. Juliana’s in Chicago. Together they celebrated 45 beautiful years of marriage and were blessed with 2 children and further blessed with 3 grandchildren. She was employed for many years as an administrative assistant with the oral surgeons within Northwest Community Hospital. Her commitment to her career was an extension of her caring and nurturing personality.
Joyce loved animals but had a passion for horses – especially riding them- that brought her tranquility and joy. She extended this passion to her family, creating lasting memories of rides and shared moments of serenity.
Born with a strong love for music, Joyce could often be found dancing to the rhythms of life, embracing melodies that resonated deep within her soul.
Her passion for music was a source of joy and inspiration to those around her, and her presence at gatherings and social events would often be marked by the magic of her infectious enthusiasm, turning ordinary occasions into unforgettable celebrations.
Never one to miss out on a party, Joyce possessed a unique sociable charm that drew people to her like a magnet. She rejoiced in the company of family and friends, finding immense happiness in the simple pleasures of human connection.
But above all, Joyce was a wonderful and caring mother. She was deeply involved in all school activities and her children's and grandchildren’s sporting events, always there to cheer them on and show her support.
In addition to her husband, Scott; she is survived by her children, Scott M. (Kelly) Wezalis and Lauren (Paul) Lillie; grandchildren, Alex Wezalis, Lana and Aubrey Lillie; her sister, Mary Kay (Curtis) Sallee; her brothers, Don, Rick (Wendy) and Frank Kornfeind and by many loving nieces, nephews and friends.
