Judith A. Jones

August 30, 1945 — January 2, 2019

Davenport Crystal Lake

Judith (Judy) A. Jones, 73, of Crystal Lake, passed away Wednesday, January 2, 2019 in Huntley after a brief illness. She was surrounded in love by her family.

Judy was born August 30, 1945 in Oak Park to Alva Norris Cook and Dorothy (DeWolf) Cook. She spent 5 years with her parents living in Prairie Grove, AR at a very young age and enjoyed telling stories of the wonderful time she spent there, as they raised and farmed frogs and rabbits. After they came to Crystal Lake, she met Ronald Jones while attending Crystal Lake Community High School (now Crystal Lake Central). After graduating, they were married on June 8, 1963 and had two sons, Todd A. Jones, and Mark R. Jones, and a daughter, Cary A. Jones. They settled and lived in Crystal Lake.

Judy enjoyed life by noticing both big things and small, like a huge, glorious sunset, or a ladybug climbing a blade of grass. Her passions were spending time with her beloved husband and family, maintaining big vegetable, herb, and flower gardens with Ronnie, canning foods, fishing, buying and selling antiques, journaling, writing snail mail letters and thank-you’s. She was loved and respected by many people, including her friends and those she regularly knew from helping Ronnie run their auto body business, Mark II Enterprises, for 30 years, and from working as a cashier at Menard’s. Ronnie and Judy met as high school sweethearts and remained best friends, and head over heels in love through 55 years of marriage.

She is survived by her husband, Ronald Jones; their children, Todd Jones of Crystal Lake and Cary (Mark) Yedinak of Huntley; grandson, Jeremy Jung of Belvidere; granddaughter, Rebecca (John) Cady and great grandson Mason Cady of Machesney Park, brothers-in-law; Bill Zavison and Don Jones, cousins Sue (John) McCue, Nancy Nalian, Janet (Bill) Funchess, and Michael (Deborah) Nalian.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alva Norris and Dorothy Cook and her son, Mark R. Jones.

Funeral services were held privately for the family.
