Karen L. Gleason

Karen L. Gleason, 78, of Barrington, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on January 4, 2022. She was born on December 2, 1943 in St. Louis, MO to Erwin and Bertilla Frick.

Karen was united in marriage to the love of her life, Dennis, on September 28, 1963. They spent 58 loving years together and created a wonderful family. They lived for 48 years in Fox Point, immersed in the neighborhood and  surrounded by wonderful friends and lifelong memories.

Karen served on various committees in Fox Point, including the Tennis and Social Committees. She was also an active member of Saint Anne Catholic Church, where she served on the Women’s Club. Above all, Karen cherished her family and was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

Karen will be deeply missed by her husband, Dennis; children, Susan (Stuart) Porter of Charleston, SC and Michael (Jill) Gleason of Phoenix, AZ; grandchildren, Stuart (Melissa) and Jack Porter, Emma and Everett Gleason; siblings, Joan Lyons and Jerry (Joanne) Frick; and by many loving friends and extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

A celebration of Karen’s life will be held at a later date in the summer.
