Kathryn Aileen (Fore) DeMent

Kathryn Aileen Fore DeMent of Barrington, Illinois, passed away on August 10, 2021 at the age of 78. Her celebration of life will be on October 16, 2021 beginning with a visitation at 10:00 am and service at 11:00 am at Barrington United Methodist Church, 98 Algonquin Road, Barrington, Illinois 60010. Kathryn (Kate) was born on August 21, 1942 in Carbondale, Illinois.

She moved to Mt. Vernon, Illinois when she was five years old. She graduated from Mt. Vernon Township High School in 1960 which is where she met the love of her life, William DeMent. She married William on August 25, 1963 at First Methodist Church in Mt. Vernon. Kate did not have one occupation, she had several. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. She was devoted to and lived by her faith daily.

She worked at Barrington United Methodist Church for several years, not only in the office but also as a trustee. Kate enjoyed painting and transformed aspects of her life onto a canvas.

She is survived by her daughter Michelle (Brian) DeBiase, her daughter-in-law Dawn DeMent, her grandchildren Adrianne (Will) Perkins, Allyson (Nathan) Bradford, Jason DeBiase, Kathryn DeBiase, her great-grandchildren Chance Perkins, Blakeley Perkins, Annaleigh Bradford, and Avalynn Bradford, her sister Carolyn Kirk, sister-in-law Janice (Jim) Dusharme, brother-in-law Mike Marlow, her nieces Lynn Richards, Deborah Kirk, Darla Sindt, Angela (Wes) Colebar, Stacy Marlow, and Courtney (Kris) Clark, her nephews Doug (Peggy) Kirk and Scott (Kristen) Fore. She is also survived by many great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins. Kate was preceded in death by her husband William, son Michael, her parents Clifford and Evelyn Fore, her mother-in-law and father-in-law Donald and Dorothy DeMent, her brother Gordon Fore, nephew Jeffrey Fore, and sister-in-law Sue Marlow. In lieu of flowers, memorials/donations can be made to Barrington United Methodist Church Memorial Fund
