Lynne A. Edens, 62, of Barrington, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at home on July 12, 2021. She was born on November 16, 1958 in Moultrie, GA to Darwin and Isabelle (nee Popielarz) Edens.
Lynne was a graduate of University of Evansville in Indiana and received her Master’s in Education from Northern Illinois University. For over 30 years, Lynne was a special education teacher for middle school students at Central School in Glencoe, IL. Lynne was a world traveler, and even had the opportunity to live in Japan as a teacher. She was a creative artist, loved to paint and work with flowers, gardening and was also an avid reader. Lynne loved Michigan, especially her family’s lake house in Onekama. She was called “Nona” by her granddaughter, “Auntie” by all her nieces and nephews and “Ms. Edens” by her hundreds of students over the years.
Lynne will be deeply missed by her daughter, Jacquelyn (Ivan Lopez) Martin; granddaughter, Pilar and a grandson on the way; her parents, Liz and Dar Edens; her sisters, Sheila (Joe) Aiello and Leslie (Marc) Ugol; nieces and nephews, Lauren and Brent Ugol, Maria Isabella, Amelia, Sal and Anna Aiello; and by all her adoring students at Central School; as well as many loving extended family and friends.
Memorial visitation will be Saturday, July 17, from 10 AM until the Memorial Mass at 11 AM at Saint Anne Catholic Community, 120 Ela St. (Corner of Franklin and Ela Sts.) Barrington, IL. Interment will be private.
