Marilyn Joy (Bittinger) Tousignant

Marilyn Joy Tousignant, 92, of McHenry, passed away on Thursday, April 28, 2022.  She was born in Medford, MA to Arthur and Lillian (Stewart) Bittinger on August 22, 1929.

Marilyn and Raymond married October 3, 1953, in Massachusetts and moved to Illinois to raise their family. Marilyn was a Girl Scout leader and the first GI Nurse in the Chicagoland area.  She was very involved in her community and upon moving to Heritage Woods of McHenry, Marilyn started church services, a choir and adult diaper drive. Marilyn was always reaching out to help others, welcomed anyone to her home, and genuinely had a way to make everyone feel loved.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; sister, Shirley Singer; daughter and son in law Laurieand Gary Rich; and grandsons, David and Derrick Tousignant.

Marilyn is survived by her children, Marilyn (Fred) Reuter, Melissa Sachsel, David Tousignant, and Raymond “Joey” Tousignant; grandchildren, Jeni (Marc) Schmottlach, Ashley (Zak) Brown, Alyssa Reuter, Ricky Sachsel, Christina (Michael) Kastning, Bryan (Kung) Rich, Falen (Chris) Murray, Michelle Tousignant; great grandchildren, Everett, Aelyn, Damien, Liliana, Levi, Aiden, Blake, Camden, Andrew, Keigan, Charlie, James, Claire.

Visitation will be on Saturday, May 7, from 3pm until the time of a service at 5pm at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake.
