Mark Anthony Ross

Mark A. Ross, a devoted husband and father, passed away peacefully at his home on May 3, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. He was 55 years old. Born on October 21, 1967, in Chicago to Ronald and Margaret Ross. Mark grew up with a love of family and friends.

Mark is survived by his beloved wife, Caroline, and their three children, Abigail, Aiden, and Mary, who were the center of his world. Mark is also survived by his mother, Marge Ross, his mother-in-law, Pat Hallinan, his sisters-in-law, Kathleen (David) Winkiel and Susan (Gedi) Jomantas, and his nieces and nephews, Shannon, Mackenzie, and Kevin Winkiel and Thomas Jomantas. He was preceded in death by his father, Ronald.

Caroline and Mark shared a deep and meaningful connection that was evident to anyone who saw them together. They were a true team. Caroline was Mark's biggest supporter. She worked tirelessly over the past 5 years advocating for the best possible medical care for his well being. Together, they created a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. He was deeply proud of his children and was a constant source of support for them.

Mark will be remembered for his love of life and his ability to make others feel valued and appreciated. He had a core group of friendships that he nurtured over the course of his lifetime. Many of whom he considered to be brothers and sisters.

Mark's family and friends will miss his infectious laughter, wit, his kind heart, and his unwavering love and support. Visitation will be held from 9am until the funeral mass at 11am on Tuesday, May 9, at St. Anne Catholic Church, 120 N. Ela Street, Barrington. Burial will be private at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family in care of Mark's children. Mark's memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
