Mary Theresa Betz

Mary Theresa Betz (nee Vollmer) of Barrington, IL was gathered into our Lord’s arms December 26, 2020 after a long battle with Parkinson’s.   She will always be remembered for her warmth, selfless service, resilience, perseverance and most of all her love. Mary spent many years devoted to St. Anne’s church where she sang in the choir. She also enjoyed her years as a member of the German Club known as the “Kaffeeklatsch”. She was an avid gardener, talented cook and an accomplished business woman.

Mary will be deeply missed by the love of her life Erwin C. Betz; her four children Julia (Dennis) Lincoln, Christine (Roger) Masonick Urban, Marcia (Jeffrey) Hovorka and Mark (Christine) Betz; her grandchildren Stephanie (Vernon) Davidson, Matthew Lincoln, Christopher Lincoln, Emily (Christopher) Miller, Heidi (Michael) Howerton, Nicholas Hovorka, Eric Betz, Alexander Hovorka, Jacob Betz, Nathan Hovorka, and Lauren Betz; great grandchildren, who were so fortunate to have spent time with her, Isabella, Franklin, Elizabeth Jane, Hannah, Connor, James, Gideon and Caroline; her sisters Philomena Bronner and Margaret James; her brother Joseph Vollmer; and many loving nieces, nephews and friends.

The funeral mass and internment will be private. The family will celebrate her life with a memorial service for friends and extended family at a future date.
