Mary L. “Marilu” Staudt of Deer Park, IL, died Sunday, January 10, 2021 at JourneyCare, Arlington Heights, Illinois.

She was born August 11, 1938 in Roseau, Minnesota.  After graduating from high school, she attended Stephen’s College in Columbia, Missouri, majoring in aviation.  Marilu and her husband Jim lived in Buffalo Grove, Illinois for 30 years before moving to Hot Springs Village, Arkansas, in 1998.  They returned to the Chicago area and to Deer Park in 2018.  Since moving to Deer Park, she had been a member of St. Anne Catholic Community in Barrington.

While living in Buffalo Grove, she was a Welcome Wagon Hostess for 18 years and was a Board Member of the Buffalo Grove Chamber of Commerce.  Shortly after moving to Hot Springs Village, she became an Avon representative and continued in that role until October, 2012.

Marilu is survived by a wonderful, close and devoted family.  The family includes her four sons: John (Susan), Minneapolis, MN; Patrick, Grapevine, TX; Michael (Sherry), Crystal Lake, IL.; Robert, Crystal Lake, IL; one daughter: Theresa (Chris) Johlie, Deer Park, IL; 16 Grandchildren:  Katie Lynn, Ryan, Matthew, Chad, Jacob, Alexa, David, Megan, Zachery, Justin, Brandon, Kelly, Stephen, Alana, Sara and Kevin; Great Grandson’s Gavin, Gus, and Parker, and brother-in-law David Cook, Apple Valley, MN; and several loving nieces, nephews and cousins.

Marilu is preceded in death by her parents, John and Esther Taylor, husband and best friend Jim, and brother Morris Taylor and his wife Evelyn.

A private Funeral Mass for the family and close family friends will be celebrated at St. Anne Catholic Community in Barrington.   Memorials may be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Memphis, TN.
