Michael "Mike" R. Ambrosio

Michael R. “Mike” Ambrosio, 90, of Crystal Lake, recently of Bloomingdale, passed away peacefully on February 3, 2023. He was born on November 14, 1932 in Ozone Park, NY to the late James and Josephine Ambrosio.

Mike was united in marriage to Margaret “Peggy” Loftis and they celebrated over 56 years of marriage until her passing in 2014. Mike was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps, serving during the Korean War.

He was an avid golfer and achieved his dream of living on a golf course. He and Peggy enjoyed their retirement by spending time in Florida.

Mike is survived by his children, Michael (Brenda), Mark (Shelly), and Joanne Ambrosio; grandchildren, Kristy (Scott), Amanda (Jon), Eric, Trevor, Tyler (Zoee), and Victoria (Paul); and 7 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and by his siblings, James and Lois.

The visitation will be Saturday, February 11, 2023 from 10 AM until the 11:30 AM funeral service at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 419 E Terra Cotta Ave (IL Rt. 176), Crystal Lake.

Burial will be held privately at Windridge Memorial Park, Cary, following the service.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Mike’s name may be made to Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 932 McHenry Ave., Crystal Lake, IL 60014.
