Michele Kacer

December 27, 1968 — March 17, 2021

Davenport Crystal Lake

Michele Kacer was an inspiration. A beacon of love, compassion, humanity, generosity. She was hilarious, able to make you laugh under the most dire circumstances. Michele passed away on March 17th of 2021 after a lifelong fight against heart failure and a staggering amount of other issues that, on paper, should've taken her from us decades ago. But her spirit was, and is, too strong. Her will to live was astounding, defying every prognosis she received. After developing Scarlet Fever at the young age of 16, the sickness spread to her heart and literally, physically, enlarged it - causing a stream of problems that she met head-on for the next 36 years.

There couldn't be a more perfect metaphor for Michele. She had the biggest heart - too big for this world. Her love was overwhelming and felt by everyone she met. Be it an old friend, family, or stranger, everyone who encountered Michele knew her warmth. It was undeniable. Friends of her sons would come over, only to leave that night with their hands full of gifts. There were no strings attached, Michele just wanted people to be happy. For someone so incredibly complex, her mission in life was simply that - to make people happy. And at every opportunity, she accomplished it. The outpouring of love and support following her passing is proof of this, but no proof was needed. It was self-evident. Despite all of the suffering, surgeries, illnesses - through the pain and terror of her disease - she made it her priority to make the world a better place. She succeeded, without question.

A bashful but brilliant photographer, pianist, dancer, and jeweler, Michele took up many hobbies and excelled at them all. Everything she did, she made her own. Distinctly beautiful and somehow always fashionable. Her love and interest in music, which unlike many, included every genre and never grew stale. She was never able to stay set in her ways and always searched for what was new and interesting, infusing her with an undeniable youth that defied her age. She found beauty in everything, and everything is more beautiful because of her.

She is survived by her loving, devoted husband, Jason, and their two adoring sons, Kenny and Jake; her sister, Julie; brother, Eric; parents, Bonnie and Bill; along with aunts, uncle, cousins, niece and a nephew.

Michele will be missed, but her spirit and memory will forever be cherished by all of the countless people she touched.
