Loving wife, mother, and missionary Retta Joan Renich, 77, went to be with Jesus on March 16, 2023, after suffering courageously with illness for over three long years. Born in Jackson, MI on May 31, 1945, to Egerton and Elizabeth (nee Hankins) Long, she spent her youth in the Sydney area, Australia. Retta Joan met the love of her life, Bruce at Moody Bible Institute, and together they served in Papua New Guinea as missionaries from 1973 to 2018. She loved her three children, Nathan, Joshua, and Michelle, deeply, along with their spouses and nine grandchildren along with her sister Helen and brother John and their families.
Retta will be honored at a celebration of life service at Village Church of Barrington, 1600 E. Main Street (Lake-Cook Rd) Barrington, IL 60010 on Friday, March 24 at 11:00am, with luncheon following at the church from 12-2pm.
Visitation will be at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 149 W. Main Street (Lake-Cook Rd) Barrington, IL 60010 Thursday March 23 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, the Renich family would be honored if you would donate to Christian leaders Training College (CLTC), the Bible college that Bruce and Retta served at over the last 40 years. If you would like to donate, please make payment to:
