Davenport Lake Zurich

Ricardo Rodriguez, 59, of Lake Barrington passed away unexpectedly but peacefully on February 15, 2021.

Ricardo was born on January 18, 1962 in Corpus Christi, TX to Julio and Carmen (nee Saldaña) Rodriguez and raised in Milwaukee until the age of 17. He went to SMCC on a basketball scholarship and then later to University of AZ where he received his business degree.  He had a very successful career in the financial industry and, in his 40’s, he made the move to Chicago, IL where he started a financial company as an entrepreneur. Ricardo would then change career directions and decided to start a property management company followed by a demolition company.  He had a great love of basketball and played competitively from youth to college and then later went semi-pro ball with the Mexican American League. In addition to this, he never missed an opportunity to play street ball when getting together with family and friends.  Ricardo's greatest love was for his family. He is survived by his four daughters, Kesha, Kanice, Rebecca, Erica and two sons, Gael and Eli as well as seven grandkids, Kia, Rasheed, Rashaad, Amarion, Amel, Armand and Kaydrin. They have played, or are playing, basketball and continue his legacy and love for the sport.  He is also survived by his siblings Carmela, Roxanne, Martha and Julio JR; as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great nephews

A celebration of Ricardo’s life will be held at 12pm on Saturday, June 10, 2021 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 3005 W Michigan St, Milwaukee, WI 53208. Inurnment will take place at St. Joseph Cemetery in Waukesha, Wis.
