Richard Eugene Quick

Richard Eugene Quick, 63, of Crystal Lake passed away on Monday, February 24, 2020.  He was born in Darlington, SC on July 21, 1956 to James and Jean Quick.

Richard was a retired Special First Class from the US Army serving his country over twenty years. Most of his career he was a military police officer.   He spent many years overseas in South Korea and Okinawa, along with being stationed at many bases State side.

Richard was very involved with his family and community.  He volunteered with the Red Cross, JourneyCare Hospice.  He enjoyed his time leading bible studies on Saturday mornings and Karaoke on Sunday afternoons at the Fountains in Crystal Lake. He also led Veteran’s Day and Memorial Day services at the Fountains.  Richard was very generous with his time which also included his service with Fox Valley Baptist Association and at his church, First Baptist in Crystal Lake.

Survivors include his wife of 21 years, Elie (Mak) Quick; children, Robert (Minji Kim), Paul, Angela (Christian) Weldon, Franklin, Ian, Sarai and Erin; grandchildren, Everette and Harper Weldon; his mother, Jean; and siblings, James Quick and Sherri O’Neal.

A memorial service will be Saturday, February 29, at 1pm at First Baptist Church, 6502 South IL Rte. 31, Crystal Lake.
