Richard C. Stoddard, 64, life-long resident of Crystal Lake, passed away unexpectedly at home on June 4, 2022. He was born on August 24, 1957 in Elgin, IL to the late August and Angeline Stoddard.

In 1975, he joined the Crystal Lake Fire Department, where he served his community for 39 years until his retirement in 2014. Rick's compassion and kind healing heart bestowed a love and protection upon all he touched whether you were in his inner circle or someone he helped during his service or one of his beloved rescue dogs.

Lastly, the purest love he had for his beautiful wife Deborah was a fairytale in the making from the very 1st date.  The life they built together was steeped in respect, wild passion and an love most could only dream of.  Those privileged to be a part of their journey are blessed to witness this love of 41years.

Rick will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 41 years, Deborah (nee Goss); his dear brother, Charles Stoddard; beloved nieces and nephews, Sarah, Heather, Brandon, James, Caitlain, Nate, Allie, Claire, and Maddie; great-nephews and nieces; and by his cherished godson, Lukas George.
