Robert A. Capparelli

Robert A. Capparelli, age 87, of Huntley, IL and formerly of Lombard, IL, passed away on January 7, 2021. He was born on March 3, 1933 in Chicago, IL to Joseph and Caroline (nee Tumillo) Capparelli.

Robert was the beloved husband of Olivia (nee Cannataro); loving father of the late Robert (Laura) Capparelli, Cynthia (Mark) Sciortino, Joseph Capparelli, and Richard (Kathy) Capparelli; cherished papa of Kalista, Tyler, Gianna, Joey, Kallista, Brooke, and Marissa; best friend of many years, Donald Thiel; and fond uncle and friend to many.

In addition to his parents and sisters, Robert is preceded in death by his son, Robert (Bobby) Capparelli.

Robert was employed with the R & D Thiel Carpenter Contractors as the Vice President of sales, retiring in 2010. He was considered a valuable contributor to the success of the organization. Robert was an icon in his field, devoting his entire career to the home building industry. His wit, sense of humor, and infectious personality always made others smile. His engaging demeanor and respect for others were just some of the wonderful characteristics he possessed. His love for his family, however, was the most important.

Robert enjoyed golf, bocce ball, playing cards at the American Legion Hall, searching for new restaurants to dine at, and spending time with friends and family.

He also served his country honorably in the United States Army from March 1953 until March 1955.
