Robert Russel Hyde was born December 19, 1937 in Chicago to David and Myrtle Hyde.  He passed away peacefully March 26, 2021, surrounded by his loving family.

On May 20, 1961 Bob married the love of his life, Challyn DeBaugh.  They were two months shy of their 60th anniversary.

Bob served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War from 1961-1963.  He received the Bronze Star for Bravery.  He worked for Lockheed Air Terminal which became AGI for 42 years, retiring in 2003.

Bob had many different interests.  He belonged to the Bo-Arro Archery Club, made beautiful stained glass pieces, played the accordion, went camping with his family, and enjoyed fishing and time at the beach.  His favorite vacation spot was Disney World and his favorite saying to his grandkids was “Time for Bed”.

Bob is survived by his wife, Challyn; children, Laura (Mike) Scheffler, Tom Hyde, Jeanine (Dan) Blair, Rob (Nora) Hyde, and Jason Hyde; grandchildren, Brandon and Ashley Scheffler, Jacqueline (Bud) Young, Danielle, Kyle, and Nathan Hyde, Skylar, Parker, Brock, and Dawson Buetow, Justin, Brianna, and Gatlin Blair, Jessi, Emma, and Calli Hyde, and Maddy and Ryland Hyde; and great grandchildren, Cordi Hyde, Cadence Young, Lily Hyde, and Scott Scheffler.  He was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Earl, Margie, Myrtle, Harriet, and Laurence.

Memorial visitation will be held from 1pm until the memorial service at 3pm, Thursday April 8 at St. Barnabas Lutheran Church, 8901 Cary Algonquin Road, Cary, IL.  Military honors will follow the service.
