Sheryl Jean Myers

Sherry Myers passed peacefully at her home on February 16, 2021. Sherry was born to John and Mary Pendleton on July 18, 1944 in Columbus Ohio, she was the youngest of five children.  She married the love of her life William (Bill) Myers in June, 1963. They raised three children one son David and two daughters Debra and DeAnn.

The family moved to Crystal Lake, IL in 1979 where Sherry created a loving home, her children flourishing at school and in extra curricular activities.  A devoted mother she was a Girl Scout leader, on the PTO and helped at sporting events working the concession stand.

She took a position with the Crystal Lake School District 47 and began her 38-year career as a Paraprofessional, first in special education then transitioned into the mainstream classroom.  She loved her students and worked diligently to make sure all their needs were met in and out of school.  When she retired in 2017, she missed her work and all her students.

Sherry is preceded in death by her parents, John and Mary Pendleton, brothers John and James Pendleton and sisters Margret Walters and Margorie Smurr.

Sherry is survived by her husband, Bill, her children David(Sandy) Myers, Debra Harney, DeAnn Myers and beloved grandchildren Andrew, Alexis and Hailey.

A visitation for Sherry will be held Sunday, February 21, 2021 from 1p.m. until the time of service at 4p.m. at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 419 E Terra Cotta Ave (Rt. 176) Crystal Lake.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Sherry’s memory to the Crystal Lake Food Pantry.
