Stephen F. Foley, 67, of Barrington, was born on December 20, 1949 in Tullycrine, County Clare, Ireland and passed away peacefully on September 23, 2017.

Stephen was the owner of Foley Masonry and Construction in Barrington. He was also a proud farmer with his wife Maureen. They welcomed the local community for the past 25 years to the Foley Farmstand.

He served in the Irish Army as a Peace Keeper for the United Nations.  He continued his love for Irish Football playing for St. Pat’s in Chicago. Steve was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, being outdoors, the Chicago Cubs, Irish football and hurling. He also loved Irish music and dancing, and visiting Ireland whenever he could. Everyone who met Stephen loved him, even animals.

Stephen is survived by his loving wife, Maureen B. Foley (nee McGuire); his children, Stephen (Laura) Foley, Tara (Patrick) Normoyle, Patricia (Jason) Foley-Hartung; his grandchildren, Stella, Aine, Elena; his mother, Agnes Foley (nee Casey); his siblings, Mary Corcoran, Anne (John) Reynolds, Matthew Foley; Sisters-in-law, Anne and Merlyn Foley; many loving nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters-in-law, extended family and friends.

Stephen was preceded in death by his father, Matthew Foley; his sisters, Bridget Foley and Kathleen Power; his brothers, Patrick and Michael Foley.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 28, from 3 PM until 8 PM at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 149 W. Main Street (Lake-Cook Rd) Barrington, IL. Mass of Christian burial will be Friday, September 29, at Saint Anne Catholic Community, 120 N. Ela St. (Corner of Franklin and Ela Sts.) Barrington, where family and friends can visit from 10 AM until the time of his Mass at 11AM. Burial to follow at St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery, Palatine.
