Steven G. Maurer

Steven G. Maurer, of Woodstock, passed away Monday October 28th, 2019 at the age of 74.
He was born February 14th, 1945 in Chicago, IL.

Steven is survived by his sons, Lee (Jodi) and Joey (Jamie) Maurer, his grandsons, Eric, Brad, Kyle and Trent, Travis, Ty and Tanner.

He was preceded in death by his mother Lillian Dean and his sister Carol Berg.

Steve was known for his tall stature and deep voice, which could be intimidating at first impression. After a couple minutes of speaking with him, you realize he is kind, caring and enjoyed talking with people.  He took those qualities and applied them to being a good salesman for most of his life - primarily in the food service and mens clothing industries.  He was a wonderful and loving father to his two sons Lee and Joey.

Besides his family, his passion and love were for the game of baseball.  He was an avid Milwaukee/Atlanta Braves and Cubs fan. He spent numerous hours on the baseball fields instilling his love for the game on to his 2 sons (Lee and Joey) and his 7 grandchildren. Towards the end of his life while battling diabetes he still would make every effort to come and watch his grandchildren play his favorite game.  He loved and cherished getting updates on his grandson’s success or failures that the game brought them.  He will be forever missed.
