Timothy Jude Madura

August 23, 1948 — September 21, 2020

Davenport Crystal Lake

Timothy Jude Madura, 72, passed away peacefully due to a chronic medical condition on September 21, 2020 at his home in Aurora, IL. Born on August 23, 1948 in Chicago, Tim was raised in a loving home of nine kids. He enlisted in the United States Navy in 1966 and married his sweetheart, Diana Lynn Bidenkap, on September 14, 1968 in Crystal Lake, IL. Tim served his country in the Vietnam War as a chaplain’s assistant aboard the USS America, a Kitty Hawk-class aircraft carrier, and was awarded the National Defense Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, and the Navy Unit Commendation before being honorably discharged in 1969. Tim went on to work in management within the automotive repair industry for national firms such as Pepboys and Goodyear.

Tim’s first son, Brian, was born in 1970; his wife, Diana, passed away in 1972. Tim later married Nancy Jo Wienecke (now Mosolino) on August 18, 1976 in Woodstock, IL. His second son, Stephen, was born in 1978. Tim was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and found great joy serving wherever needed. He loved spending time with his family, believing that “family” grew with every new friend that he met. Contagiously kind and infectiously funny, he was known by many as “The Candy Man” for his never-ending supply of Werther’s Original candies which he doled out freely. Whether bank teller or mailman, cashier or customer, Tim had an uncanny ability to make a genuine connection with everyone he met. He added much needed laughter, joy, faith, and kindness to the world. His hope would be, “Pass it on".

Tim is survived by his sons, Brian Joseph Madura and Stephen Adam (Kerri Lynne) Madura; seven grandchildren: Madeline Elisabeth Miller, Andrew Joseph, Stephanie Diana, Carter Stephen, Addison Thomas, Alana Tess, and Lylah Grace Madura; siblings, Constance Joan (Thomas Michael) Fraser, Thomas Joseph (Judith Ann) Madura, Sharon Elizabeth (Gary Robert) Schauer, Robert Michael (Pamela Lynn) Madura, Richard Edward (Rosalie Ann) Madura, Mary Elizabeth (the late James Richard) Maxwell, Gregory Michael (Angela Susan) Madura; and second wife, Nancy Jo Wienecke (now Mosolino).

Tim was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Thomas and Elizabeth Anne Madura; his sister, Nancy Lee Madura; his brother-in-law, James Richard Maxwell; his first wife, Diana Lynn Bidenkap; and third wife, Karen Marie Newman.
