Tom Archambeau, Sr.

Thomas Paul Archambeau, Sr. “Tom/Archie” of Crystal Lake, passed away with his loving family by his side on September 22, 2021.

He was born February 21, 1939 in Chicago, the son of the late Wilford and Harriett Archambeau.

Early in life, Tom played football for Lane Tech High School and then continued to play for Bradley University. He also enjoyed participating in multiple softball leagues throughout the Chicago area. Throughout his life, Tom was an avid bass fisherman, even after losing his sight, battling illness and limited use of his left hand.

Tom was a meat cutter for 60 years. During his career he would meet his loving wife, Donna, working for the same grocery store. They were married for 55 years.

Tom was the loving husband of Donna; beloved dad of Tom (Laura), Sheri, Candie (Bryce), Craig (Tracy), Mike (Gena) and Jessica (Darren); cherished grandpa of Brooke, Alexis, Joey, Danielle, Josh, Jake, Rachael, Ally, Jaine, Lauren, Brandon, Nate, Colin, Alex, Giana, Kelsey, Nik, and Aubrey; and loving great-grandpa of Austin.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Dick (Laura).

A celebration of Tom’s life will be held at a later date.
