Violeta P Olivera

The Mass of Christian Burial for Violeta P. Olivera, 88, of Algonquin, will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, May 18th at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, 111 S Hubbard St, Algonquin, IL 60102, where she will lie in state from 10 a.m. until the time of mass. Burial will follow at St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery, Palatine.

Born April 30, 1935, in Candelaria, Quezon Province, Philippines, Violeta passed away May 5, 2023 at her home in Algonquin.

Violeta worked as a registered nurse for 60 years. She enjoyed bible study, traveling, reading, and spending time with family and friends. She also served as an Eucharistic Minister at St. Margaret Mary Parish in Algonquin.

Survivors include her son, Art (Karen) Olivera of Algonquin; granddaughters, Elizabeth and Emily Olivera; siblings, Eddie (Zenny) Pancho, Armando (Josie) Pancho, Melinda (Manuel) Gonzalez, Joey (Lynne) Pancho, Menardo (Late Karen) Pancho, Nancy (Rick) Panaligan, and many loving nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin S. Olivera, and her son, Edwin ‘Eddie’ P. Olivera.
